About us
We're looking for website reviewers
and technical people (such as web designers, HTML and
flash proficient people etc) who can spare a little
time on a completely voluntary basis to help with the
reviews and technical questions people may ask on this
website. If you think you may be able to help us in
some way, please do not hesitate to contact
us.
We believe the internet has enormous potential
for spreading the Gospel of Christ and is a useful source
for information about Christianity - if you know where
to look! The internet can also be a very dark place.
This website is here in the hope to make the internet
a better place for UK Christians. It works on two levels
- for the Christian webmaster who will, over time, be
able to find resources, encouragement, and information
on managing a Christian website. But this website is
also a resource for the Christian who is just surfing
the internet and looking for good Christian content.
This website has several sister sites including a comprehensive
links database aimed specifically at UK Christian Websites.
Basic philosophy
We also believe that a great website
- infact some of the best - do not need to incorporate
the latest technology in order to be a fantastic resource
for the Christian community. On the internet, quality,
accurate, and true content is king! Technology can often
make a website look superficially 'lovely' (and at the
same time create a significant cost in the website budget),
but that in itself doesn't always make an 'average'
website outstanding.
A brief history of UK Christian
Webmaster...
Originally,
the UK Christian Web British Guild of Christian Webmasters
was started up by Jeremy Snooks in March of 2001 and
subsiquently moved to UK Christian Web in July 2002.
When the British
Guild of Christian Webmasters was originally set up
in March 2001, the aim was to encourage other Christians
who were involved with making web sites, particularly
with a special emphisis towards Christians in the UK.
The vision is for a guild in the true sense of the word
- people of like-mind helping each other. This basic
vision is still the same for what is now the UK Christian
Webmaster site.
We would also like
to acknowledge the original hosea website which made
some of their content available as public domain when
they closed down. Some of that content has been incorporated
into this website.
We hope that over time this site will
build into a useful resource for Christian Webmasters
and Christian Web users. |
