- Basic statement of faith
There is one God, the Father Almighty,
Maker of heaven and earth.
Jesus Christ, the Son of God who is both true God and
true man. Jesus endured death on the cross, as an all-sufficient
sacrifice for sin and He was resurrected from the dead,
ascended into heaven and is coming again in glory.
The Holy Spirit is One with the Father and the Son in
the Godhead. He lives in every Christian believer and
is the source of our spiritual life, obedience to God
and Christ-like behaviour.
Because of sin man is under God's judgement and is unable
to save himself, but anybody can be put right with God
through faith in Christ alone, and the evidence of this
faith is shown by repentance from sin and commitment
to Jesus Christ as Lord.
Christ is the Supreme Head of His Body, the Church,
in which every believer is equipped by God for a specific
function. The Church is called to glorify God in worship,
to preach the gospel throughout the world and to build
itself up in love.
The Bible is the inspired Word of God and it is the
supreme authority in all matters of faith and Christian
living.
Heaven is eternity with God: Hell
is eternal separation from God.
